Golden Dumplings

Ingredients

Syrup
1 1/2 cups water
1 tbs. golden syrup
1/2/ cup sugar
1 tbs. butter
 
Dumplings
1 cup SR flour
1 tbs. butter
1 egg
milk
 

Method

Rub butter into flour, add egg and milk as necessary to make a stiff dough.

Combine syrup ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to the boil.

Form dough into 6 to 8 balls and drop into the boiling syrup. Simmer with lid on for about 20-30 minutes.

Alternatively microwave syrup ingredients on high for 5 minutes or until boiling. Add dumplings and cook covered on medium for 4 minutes. Stand for 5 minutes before serving.
